Background:  The heavy ions represent the best tool for the external radiotherapy of inoperable tumours. And heavy ion RT has been used in treatment of various tumors, especially for the radioresistant tumors mediated by hypoxia, localized near organs at risk. Most of these treatments are concertrated in deep-seated tumors such as those of brain, head, lung, liver, rectum and urogenital organs, and treatment of skin carcinomas is limited.
