Abstract:  The diagnosis of atypical Spitz tumor (AST) in a pediatric patient conveys an uncertain potential for malignancy. Although pediatric melanoma is rare, AST may be treated aggressively with sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) and subsequent completion lymphadenectomy.
