Abstract

Background:  Although mixed forms have been recently described, segmental (SV) and nonsegmental vitiligo (NSV) are considered as clinically distinct. However, limited epidemiological data is available to help distinguishing associated factors, and recent genomewide association studies have been restricted to NSV. The higher prevalence of SV in children is convenient to compare the two major presentations of the disease.
